TIKL Pro Restore MAX was developed for luthiers and restorers to work along side TIKL Pro Restore for when that extra bit of cleaning power is needed. Be aware that this is a powerful product and considerable care needs to be taken to ensure that the fastness of colour and varnishes is not affected adversely its use. Testing on an inconspicuous area is vital as some varnishes (typically newer finishes) can be softened and removed.

Pro Restore MAX is more than just a “beefing up” of Pro Restore. It has been formulated using a completely different technology and is designed to attack serious deposits in a much more aggressively.

Designed for the cleaning and restoring of wooden, bowed musical instruments. It is water-based, non-flammable, has low environmental impact and leaves no residues. Its powerful formula is designed for the removal of aged dirt build up and dried rosin from varnished surfaces. It is now being widely used in antique violin restoration.

It is widely known with violin, viola, cello and double bass restoration that one of the most important aspects is the initial cleaning of an instrument prior beginning restoration. It is also known that this can be extraordinarily difficult and time consuming when faced with centuries of hardened rosin and general grime built up from years of playing.

With cleaners used in restoration, the utopia surely is a product that has the effectiveness of a commonly used harsh solvent such as xylene but, as with Pro Restore MAX, has the following attributes:

  • Water-based
  • Low environmental impact
  • Fully biodegradable
  • Non-toxic
  • Non-flammable
  • Non-caustic
  • Non-abrasive

Created for professionals, Pro Restore comes in a large, 500ml bottle.
